CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, light-touch modality that addresses the whole body by releasing tension and promoting relaxation.
Stress and strain are absorbed by the body and over time can affect the tissues, and potentially the membranes of the craniosacral system. By releasing subtle restrictions in the connective tissue (fascia) surrounding organs, muscles, and bones, the craniosacral system can restore fluid balance.
Such releases can allow the body to relax and make self-corrections, thus reduce pain, stress, and promote the healing process.

Cerebrospinal fluid protects and cushions the brain (and spinal cord) from injury, assists with delivering nutrients and removing waste/toxins, and maintains chemical balance and intracranial pressure. By releasing tension or restrictions in the connective tissue (fascia) between the skull (cranium) and sacrum (triangular shaped bone at the base of spine), the craniosacral system can restore fluid balance.

CranioSacral Therapy mouthwork and SomatoEmotional Release techniques may be incorporated into sessions based on the individual needs of the client and the body's presentation during each session.
There are situations or diagnoses that CranioSacral Therapy would not be recommended. Please go to the FAQs page for details or call the office with any questions.

During the initial session, intake forms and concerns of the client are reviewed, followed by a full-body assessment of the CranioSacral system. Clients are fully dressed and typically lie on their backs, however treatment table is fully adjustable and bolsters and/or pillows are available to ensure comfort. The duration of these sessions range from 75-90 minutes.
It is recommended to schedule a follow-up session within two weeks of the initial appointment. However, the number and frequency of CranioSacral Therapy (CST) sessions are based on the individual needs of each client.

Feel free to call the office with any questions or to book an appointment. We currently schedule appointments on Mondays, Fridays, or Saturdays.
